Three-time grand slam champion Andy Murray broke down in an Australian Open press conference saying the Melbourne Park tournament may be his last.
The 31-year-old Scottish star said he’d hoped to be able to get to Wimbledon in the middle of the year when he planned to retire, but his body is taking strain, and it may not allow him to last that long.
Murray has been struggling with injuries, specifically his troublesome hip in the last few years, and now it seems the pain may be all too much.
After barely surviving a practice session with Novak Djokovic on Thursday, Murray had to be excused early in his Friday interview, as he broke down in tears when asked about his fitness.
Upon his return, he said he is not feeling great, and has been struggling for probably about 20 months.
