# A strong cold front will bring bad weather this weekend

# Weather forecasters have warned of a strong cold front that is approaching South Africa and is expected to make landfall on Sunday.
The front is expected to affect the Western Cape as well as the Northern Cape.
The system is bringing with it very cold weather and gale-force winds.
Weather forecaster from the Weather office in Cape Town, Samkelisiwe Thwala says some areas may even get snowfall on Sunday.
# Eight people were left injured when a tractor and taxi collided in Umlaas, KwaZulu Natal.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the tractor in the road while the taxi had come to a stop on the embankment on the side of the road.
Several people were found walking around on the scene.
Medics assessed the patients and found that eight people had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
# The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) says it outrightly rejects the report tabled to Zululand District Municipality by the African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal through the COGTA Department.
This follows after COGTA tabled a forensic investigation report on allegations of corruption, fraud and maladministration in the District.
The Party’s Thami Ntuli says the IFP is fully aware of the ANC’s persistent salivation for control of the district.
Ntuli says these allegations are glaringly trumped-up and make a mockery of the legitimate fight against corruption, fraud and maladministration.
# South Africa’s COVID-19 related fatalities have gone up by twenty-eight.
This brings the total national coronavirus death toll to 3-hundred-and-97.
As of last night, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 20-thousand-125.
The total number of recoveries to date is 10-thousand-104.
The Department of Health says a total of more than 5-hundred-and-43-thousand tests have been conducted with 17-thousand done in the last 24-hour cycle.
# Government says it had no choice but to put measures in place to protect South Africans from the coronavirus.
This was in response to the latest S&P credit rating decision to keep the country under non-investment grade.
It cites a weak fiscal position and the large COVID-19 relief package as reasons.
Last month, S&P lowered South Africa’s sovereign credit rating further into junk status, citing the negative impact of COVID-19 on the country’s already ailing economy.
