# The Basic Education Department said the decision to again revise the 2020 academic calendar has not been taken lightly.
The department has revealed that the 2020 school year will be completed on 15 December.
Last month, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a four-week break for schools, to ensure that they were prepared for the return of more grades this month.
The department’s Elijah Mhlanga said the academic year won’t be rolled over into 2021.

# The African National Congress (ANC) integrity commission has recommended that Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo step down from both his roles in government and in the party.
The ANC said Masondo opened himself up to allegations that he abused his power after allegedly involving the Hawks in a personal matter.
Masondo is accused of using the Hawks to arrest his mistress after she accepted a bag of cash that he had sent to her.
The woman wanted money for psychological support after she aborted their love child.

# The IFP requested that the Auditor General intervene and conduct special audits of Covid-19 related expenses.
This follows allegations of irregularities in the awarding of tenders for protective equipment.
The party says it supports the publication of the names of the companies that have received contracts for coronavirus-related products.
IFP MP Mkhulelo Hlengwa says it is important that all government departments be included and not just the health department.
He says it is also essential that law enforcement agencies act quickly.

# Under fire Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo said he was protecting his family when he asked the Hawks to arrest a woman that he was having an affair with.
The minister claims she threatened his family after having an abortion.
Masondo defended his actions to the ANC’s integrity commission on Friday after it recommended that he step down from both his positions in government and within the party.
The ANC’s integrity commission has thrown down asking Masondo to step down.
The commission has concluded he abused state resources when he called on the Hawks to get involved.
Masondo alleges the woman started threatening his wife, children and mother in law

# Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday sent an emotional message to the staff of her television talk show saying she was taking steps to improve the culture on set following accusations of a hostile working environment.
The email followed an internal investigation by Warner Bros.
Television, which produces The Ellen DeGeneres Show, of complaints ranging from bullying to racism among production staff
