Centane Regional Court sentenced a 22-year-old Mkhwekhwe Gagu, on Wednesday, to undergo 22 years imprisonment, for rape of two young girls in Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, says, the sentence comes after the 22-year-old man raped both the then 12 and 13 year old girls.
Manatha says it is alleged that the suspect met with the girls walking on foot at Cebe Village, Centane on the 27th September 2015 at about 16:30 and forced them to a nearby unused house where he raped both of them.
He says a case of rape was opened at Centane Police Station and was investigated by the Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).
The suspect was traced and arrested.
