National Police Commissioner condemns the killing of a police officer in Soshanguve

The National Commissioner of Police, General Khehla John Sitole has condemned strongly the murder of a police officer on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Vishnu Naidu, says, on Monday night at about 20:30, Constable Ruben Dumisani Tshabalala, was on duty searching for rape suspects at extension 6 in Shoshanguve, when he was shot.
When police arrived at the scene they found Tshabalala with a gunshot wound to his upper body as well as another man with a gunshot wound to his chin.
Naidu says the police officer was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his wound.
The other wounded man is currently in hospital under police guard until police can verify exactly what role this man had played in the incident.
Naidu says at this stage it is unknown exactly who shot the policeman.
